In New York State, staff qualifications for daycare centers are governed by the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS). Here are the general requirements for staff working in daycare facilities:

1. Age Requirement: 

- Staff must be at least 18 years old.

2. Education:

   - A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required.

   - For certain positions, such as a lead teacher or director, additional education may be necessary, like a degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field.

3. Experience: 

   - Staff should have experience working with young children. This can be gained through previous employment in childcare settings, internships, or volunteer work.

4. Background Checks: 

   - All staff must undergo a comprehensive background check, which includes fingerprinting and reviewing any history of child abuse or neglect.

5. Health Requirements: 

   - Staff may be required to provide proof of immunizations and a health assessment to ensure they are fit to work with children.

6. Training: 

   - New staff must complete training on health and safety, child development, and other relevant topics. Ongoing training is often required to maintain qualifications.

7. First Aid and CPR Certification: 

   - Staff typically need to be certified in first aid and CPR, especially for those who will be in direct contact with children.

8. Additional Certifications:
